Wedding ceremony editing with multicam sync

When several cameras record the same ceremony, the edit needs to keep the event and its audio together. Wedit’s Ceremony Multicam chapter combines synchronization and camera selection within your full wedding project.

What to add

Add up to five ceremony video files. If you recorded the sound separately, add the recorder files too; the recorder input supports up to five files. Choose recordings from the same ceremony so they can be aligned with the camera footage.

Keep the original camera and recorder files available on your computer or connected drive. Camera audio helps establish synchronization, even when you intend to use the separate recording in the finished film.

How the ceremony fits into the movie

Open the wedding’s Full movie project and use Ceremony Multicam. This keeps the ceremony alongside the intro, outro and other chapters, including chapters you generated on another day.

Wedit processes the recordings, aligns the available coverage and builds the camera edit. Review the result before including it in your final movie.

What to check in the result

• Synchronization. Check visible speech against the sound at the beginning and later in the recording.
• Camera coverage. Check where a camera started late, stopped early or was obstructed.
• Important moments. Review entrances, readings, vows and other parts of this particular ceremony.
• Audio. Listen through transitions and check that the intended recording is used.

If you want to adjust individual cuts, take the timeline into your usual editor for further work.

Multicam, montage or Live?

Use Multicam for an event with different angles that need to be synchronized and edited together. Use a montage when you want a selection of moments cut to a song. Use Live when continuous footage should appear as it is, with optional audio sync.

A ceremony montage in a highlight film serves a different purpose from the ceremony chapter in the full movie. The highlight chooses moments; the longer chapter is where you work with the event’s continuous coverage.
